About

Marius Janusauskas is a scholar and fashion practitioner whose interdisciplinary work bridges academic research and creative practice. Holding a PhD in Gender and Diversity Studies from Ghent University, he explores fashion decoloniality, queer masculinities, ethical design frameworks, and the decentralization of fashion narratives in both Western and non-Western contexts. By combining theoretical inquiry with hands-on application, Janusauskas examines the visual politics of identity and challenges normative gender binaries, fostering innovative and inclusive approaches that reimagine gender embodiment in fashion.
“The basic unit of contemporary art is not the idea, but the analysis of and extension of sensations.”
Susan Sontag from Notes on 'Camp' (1966)
